More than 20 companies from Uzbekistan will take part in the international Asia Grains&Oils Conference in Qazaqstan 2022 (AGOC), Radisson HOTEL, ASTANA.
For the first time, Uzbek flour millers will be present as part of the delegation at the event in Kazakhstan. The delegation will be led by Ozdonmahsulot JSC, a state company, which includes 43 large grain processing enterprises of the country.
Uzbekistan remains the largest consumer of wheat in Central Asia. The USDA forecasts the domestic consumption of wheat may reach 8.7 mln tonnes in 2022/23 MY, up by 20% y/y. Taking into account the carry-over wheat stocks and the demand of processors, the wheat import may reach 3.5 mln tonnes in 2022/23 MY, which is 9% higher y/y.
Sheroly Donaev, General Manager of Ozdonmahsulot, said that the demand for Kazakh wheat is growing in Uzbekistan, as the country has the capacities to process it. Uzbekistan requires about 3 mln tonnes of wheat per year to load the capacities of members of Ozdonmahsulot.
S. Donaev will make a presentation at the conference and will speak about trends of wheat and flour market in Uzbekistan in 2022/23 MY. He will also introduce the directors of flour mills who are ready to hold direct negotiations and conclude contracts to sellers from Kazakhstan.
