Kazakh grain has great competitive advantages on the world market due to its high quality, quality manager of SGS Kazakhstan Saltanat Orazova stated on November 10 in Astana at Asia Grains & Oils Conference in Qazaqstan 2022.
Favorable weather conditions this season allowed timely harvesting of crops in Kazakhstan, which had a positive effect on the quality of the grain.
"Up to 60% of the soft wheat crop has at least 25% gluten content. The average protein content is 14.9%", – the expert clarified referring to the data of the examination of about 100 batches of wheat.
Such qualitative characteristics contribute to increasing the competitiveness of Kazakh wheat on the world market, she emphasized.
Regarding oilseed crops, SGS specialist said that Kazakh flaxseed and rapeseed had good export prospects. The oil content of these crops, according to the company's research, is 43.77% and 45.86% correspondingly in the current season.
"The only nuance is that Europe, which is the main buyer of flaxseed, has very high requirements for the residual content of pesticides in oilseeds. When exporting, it is worth paying attention to this", – S. Orazova said.
