Kazakhstan will export 8.5 mln tonnes of wheat and flour in grain equivalent in 2022/23 MY, up from 8.16 mln tonnes last season, Deputy Director of Harvest Kazakhstan LLC Kazybek Omarov said on November 11 in Astana at Asia Grains & Oils Conference in Qazaqstan 2022.
Particularly, export of soft wheat may reach 5.75 mln tonnes, flour– 2.5 mln tonnes. Planted area under durum wheat decreased amid COVID pandemic in Europe. The export of durum wheat is expected at 0.25 mln tonnes.
In 2022, Kazakhstan planted 12.9 mln ha with wheat that is a record over last 5 seasons. The average yield is about 1.2 t/ha. Thus, farmers managed to harvest 15.2 mln tonnes that is a record for last 10 years.
Wheat carry-over stocks are expected at 1.57 mln tonnes.
