IGC Senior Economist Alexander Karavaytsev will speak at the Asia Grains&Oils Conference in Tashkent 2023, which will be held on September 14-15 in Tashkent. The topic of his report: "The global wheat market in 2023/24 MY: a possible scenario in the face of uncertainty".
“Similar to some other grains and oilseeds, the global wheat market has been disrupted by events in the Black Sea region. While prospects for grains and oilseeds trade remain clouded by the ongoing military conflict, the wheat market is faced with other uncertainties, not least related to the El Nino weather phenomenon” - the expert noted.

Alexander Karavaytsev joined the IGC in January 2016 as Economist. While he is involved in most of the organization’s activities, his major focus has initially been on global corn and barley markets, and more recently – on wheat and wheat product markets, as well as industrial uses of grains and ocean freight of grains and oilseeds. Prior to joining the IGC, Alexander spent almost a decade in consulting and investment banking spheres, as well as trade-related diplomatic service in London.
