In September-January of 2020/21 MY, Uzbekistan became the largest importer of Kazakh sunflower oil for the first time over the last 5 seasons. It imported 26 thsd tonnes of the product, up by 68% compared to the same period of the preceding season.
Thus, Uzbekistan superseded China in the list of the leading importers of Kazakh sunflower oil. China was the main destination for Kazakh products in the last 4 seasons.
“China moved to the second position in the list. It imported 10 thsd tonnes, down by more than 2 times compared to the same period of 2019/20 MY. Logistic problems were the main factor for the export decline”, - analyst of APK-Inform, Svetlana Kyrychok explained.
Moreover, Uzbekistan is the key importer of Kazakh refined sunflower oil with the share of about 56%.
