Association of fat&oil enterprises of Uzbekistan forecasts the extension of sunflower seed processing capacities to nearly 1.1 mln tonnes per year by 2022, declared Deputy Chairman of the Association, Kamar Serkayev within Asia Grains & Oils Conference: Online Edition organized by APK-Inform.
There are more than 240 fat&oil enterprises in Uzbekistan. They produced about 280 thsd tonnes of vegetable oils and more than 650 thsd tonnes of meal in 2020.
Association says the annual capacity of oilseed processing enterprises exceeds 4.3 mln tonnes, including 3.3 mln tonnes of cottonseed and more than 1 mln tonnes of sunflower seed and soybean.
“Statistics data shows that the processing capacities will grow in the coming years. At the same time, processing of cottonseed will decline sharply”, - the expert added.
