Over the last 5 years, Uzbekistan has significantly increased export of flour and groats, declared the Head of Business project unit with APK-Inform, Andriy Kupchenko within Asia Grains & Oils Conference: Online Edition organized by APK-Inform on April 15.
According to the official data, the revenue of flour and groats export totaled 5.5 mln USD in 2016. It amounted to 220 mln USD in 2020 and doubled the result of 2019.
“Positive dynamics has been observed for Uzbek agricultural export over the last 20 years. The country exported agricultural products at the sum of 1.5 bln USD in 2020, or 11% of the overall food export. Uzbekistan mainly exports its products to Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan”, - A.Kupchenko pointed out.
There is a positive dynamics for import as well. In 2019, Uzbekistan spent about 2 bln USD for food import, or 9% of the overall import to the country.
