As of October 27, Ukrainian farmers harvested grains and pulses throughout 7.7 mln ha or 70% of the planned area. Production volume reached 30.9 mln tonnes with the average yield at 3.99 t/ha, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy informed.
Currently, they are harvesting late crops:
- 832 thsd ha of corn for grain (20%; 4.5 mln tonnes, 5.37 t/ha);
- 109 thsd ha of buckwheat (93%; 149 thsd tonnes, 1.36 t/ha);
- 42 thsd ha of millet (95%; 98 thsd tonnes, 2.32 t/ha).
Moreover, farmers harvested 3.7 mln ha of sunflower seed area (80%). Production volume reached 8.2 mln tonnes with the yield of 2.19 t/ha. Agrarians reaped 1.1 mln ha of soybean. Production volume reached 2.6 mln tonnes of with the yield of 2.36 t/ha.
Farmers harvested 5.2 mln tonnes of sugar beet with the yield of 48.9 t/ha reaped from 105 thsd ha (59%).
