Ukraine exported 15.9 mln tonnes of corn in the first half of 2020/21 MY, down by 25% compared to the same period of the previous season (21.1 mln tonnes), official statistics says.
China remained the leading importer of Ukrainian corn this season. It imported 6 mln tonnes of the grain in October-March, up by 2.2 times compared to the year ago. The share of China totaled 38% in the overall export of Ukrainian corn.
The EU imported 5 mln tonnes of Ukrainian corn, down by 39%. The share of the EU totaled 31%.
Egypt imported 1.7 mln tonnes of corn in October-March, down by 43%. Its share reached 11%.
APK-Inform forecasts Ukraine to export 23.2 mln tonnes of corn in 2020/21 MY. Thus, its export potential is 68% sold.
