There are worries about grain production in the world in 2022/23 MY, declared Darren Cooper, Senior Economist at the International Grains Council within Asia Grains&Oils Conference in Qazaqstan organized by APK-Inform on November 17-18.
“Despite the fact that total harvested area under winter wheat will stay close to the previous year’s level, there is uncertainty about final outcomes given high input costs, like energy and fertilizers. While some growers may look to spring-sown crops, such as corn, again these are likely to be impacted by high costs”, – the expert explained.
In turn, for rapeseed, northern hemisphere producers likely to be buoyed by high international prices given extremely tight availabilities in Canada.
