In September 2017, Russia is expected to break another record ever for monthly export shipments of grains from the country, declared the Head of the analytical center Rusagrotrans CJSC, Igor Pavensky.

He forecasted that in September the export volumes of grains from Russia can reach nearly 5.2 mln tonnes of grains, which will surpass the previous monthly maximum achieved in August 2017 (4.84 mln tonnes), and significantly exceed the figures of September 2016 (3.93 mln tonnes).

In particular, wheat volumes were estimated at more than 4.2 mln tonnes, which will also become a monthly record, while in September 2016 - 3.06 mln tonnes only. In the reporting month, the exports of barley were estimated at nearly 600 thsd tonnes, against 456 thsd tonnes in September 2016, while the corn shipments can decrease to 320 thsd tonnes, against 404 thsd tonnes due to some delays in the harvesting campaign rates of the grain compared with the last year schedule.

In addition, the analyst noted that in September 2017 the export shipment of grains by rail transport was expected at nearly 1.51 mln tonnes, against 1.04 mln tonnes in the same month last year. The forecasted figures show the maximum monthly level for 10 recent years, after October 2007 only (1.63 mln tonnes), I.Pavensky stressed.
