Ukraine: railway lines reduced the volumes of grain transportation to the ports - APK-Inform




According to PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways), in the period of July-September of 2017 the transportation volumes of grain for exports to the ports totaled 7 mln tonnes, a decrease of 5% compared with the same period of last season (7.4 mln tonnes), reported the grain market analyst at APK-Inform Agency, Andrei Kupchenko within frames of the second conference "Grain exports from Ukraine" on November 2, in Kyiv.

At the same time, the expert noted that in the reporting period the general exports of three major grain crops (wheat, barley, corn) became equal to the last season figures, and totaled 10.4 mln tonnes. Thus, in the current season the share of grain exports transported by rail to the ports dropped to 68%, as opposed to 71% in July-September of 2016/17 MY.
