According to APK-Inform, Ukraine exported 28.7 mln tonnes of corn in 2019/20 MY, down 5% compared to the record result of 2018/19 MY (30.1 mln tonnes). In September, Ukraine shipped only 29.2 thsd tonnes of corn, the lowest volume for this month since 2007/08 MY.
In 2019/20 MY, TOP-3 importers of Ukrainian corn included China, Spain and Egypt, who commonly bought 12.1 mln tonnes of the grain (+9% to 2018/19 MY). Their common share in overall volume of exported Ukrainian corn reached 42%.
Ukraine will export 25.2 mln tonnes of corn in 2020/21 MY, down 12% year-on-year. October export totaled 1.8 mln tonnes, down 20% compared to October 2019/20 MY. China, the Netherlands and Spain were the main importers in October with the common share at 69% or 1.3 mln tonnes.
