According to estimations of APK-Inform Agency, it will most likely not work to "stretch" the harvest stocks for the whole season, as it was in 2011/12 MY, taking into account the record processing rates of sunflower seed and soybeans, as well as high export volumes of oilseed meals and oils. In the current season, the first half of the period will face the peak of oilseed processing activity.
In October 2012 Ukraine processed the maximum volume of sunflower seed in the history - 875 thsd tonnes, and produced the record volume of sunflower oil - nearly 400 thsd tonnes. Almost all production volumes (377 thsd tonnes) were exported to Egypt, Turkey, India and China.
Processing of soybeans also broke the previous frames - in October 2012, it reached the record index for the month at 54 thsd tonnes. The high volume of domestic soybean processing in October led to the record volumes of the exports of soybean oil from Ukraine for the month period - 5 thsd tonnes, and soybean meal - 2.9 thsd tonnes.
You can get more detailed information about the results of the "hot" first half of 2012/13 MY for the market of sunflower seed, soybeans and by-products, by taking part in the conference “AOCS Oils and Fats World Market Update 2013", to be held on April 3-4, 2013, in Kiev, the national center of business and cultural cooperation "Ukrainian House".
Traditionally, the list of keynote speakers includes Stepan Kapshuk, Director of "Ukroliyaprom", and Viktor Timchenko, Director of the Ukrainian association of soybean producers and processors. Traditionally, these associations support the regular project of APK-Inform Agency and the AOCS.
