According to APK-Inform, the prices of sunflower seed have been growing in Ukraine since the end of the first ten-day period of September.
Despite the progress of the harvesting campaign and large carry-over stocks, the crushing plants are increasing their purchasing prices due to reserved farmers’ sales, as agrarians prefer to sell more profitable crops and field works moves slowly amid rains. Few plants informed about sufficient number of offers of sunflower seed.
Over the reporting period, the bid prices of sunflower seed increased by average 500 UAH/t and as of September 21 totaled 13500-16800 UAH/t CPT. Some crushers were not ready to raise their bid prices amid the profitability of sunflower oil production.
