According to APK-Inform, the prices of sunflower seed have been decreasing in Ukraine since the start of the last week.
The prices were pressured by the lowering of the crude sunflower oil prices on the export market. Additional pressure came from the improvement of weather conditions in Ukraine that allowed to fasten the sunflower seed harvesting campaign and led to higher number of offers on the market.
“However, prolonged rains hurt the quality of sunflower seed. Market operators informed about high acid value and moisture content as well as fungus diseases”, – APK-Inform informed.
Over the reporting period, the bid prices of sunflower seed decreased by 1000-1500 UAH/t and as of October 13 totaled 12500-15800 UAH/t CPT.
