Rains observed in Ukraine during the second ten-day period of August formed satisfactory agrometeorological conditions for completion of vegetation of late crops, Ukrhydrometcenter informed.
Sufficient, in many areas optimal level of soil moisture extended vegetation period of late crops, in particular sunflower seed and corn.
At the same time, good conditions were created for the accumulation of productive soil moisture reserves in the areas intended for winter crops planting for the 2023 harvest.
Unfavorable agrometeorological conditions for completion of vegetation of late crops and moisture accumulation for winter crops planting prevailed in most of the eastern and southern regions of the country, where the weather was hotter than in the western and northern regions.
Phase development of agricultural crops was close to the multiyear average and somewhat earlier.
