For the first time during 22 recent years, in 2016/17 MY the exports of Ukrainian flour broke record figures at 401.8 thsd tonnes, declared the Adviser to the Chairman at Agrarian Fund PJSC, Sergei Sakirkin.
During five recent years, progressive development of Ukrainian flour millers provided a positive result. At the same time, previously Ukrainian experts and S.Sakirkin forecasted much smaller result at the level of 370 thsd tonnes. But foreign experts forecasted the volume at 400 thsd tonnes, and finally they were right, S.Sakirkin specified.
According to the customs statistics figures, in the season-2016/17 nearly 50 countries purchased flour from Ukraine. Companies from the United Kingdom purchased the major volumes of Ukrainian flour - 148 thsd tonnes. But the purchased volumes were delivered to Angola, Benin, Israel, North Korea, Palestine and Somalia. Buyers from the United Arab Emirates purchased 43.4 thsd tonnes of the product, Moldova - 33.2 thsd tonnes, Canada - 24.5 thsd tonnes, added the official.
According to him, in the reporting period Kombinat Khliboproduktiv Talne became the main company-exporter of flour with the volume of 68.452 thsd tonnes, followed by TH Novaagro - 62.886 thsd tonnes, Vinnytsia bread factory #2 - 60.501 thsd tonnes, SFGCU - 56.67 thsd tonnes.
