Splitting of the markets of grain and flour in Kazakhstan until 2009, when traders mainly supplied the grain to the Black Sea ports, and flour - to countries of Central Asia, became one of the major keys to success for the Kazakh flour industry, declared the Director at the Union of Grain Processors and Bakers of Kazakhstan, Evgeny Gan during his report on September 29 within frames of "Grain Processors Forum - 2017".
According to him, in 2006 Kazakhstan came to the third position in the global exports of flour, and supplied 1.12 mln tonnes of the product on foreign markets, which was a complete surprise. In 2016, the exports of flour already exceeded 2.3 mln tonnes.
According to the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to date the general flour milling capacities in Kazakhstan total 9.5 mln tonnes. But grain processors and bakers estimate the figures at nearly 11.5-12 mln tonnes.
