Taking into account the production volumes of grain crops, Ukraine has the chance to continue increasing agricultural crops production and strengthen its position of the significant player on the foreign food market. Thus, for several recent years Ukraine ships more than 60% of the produced grain volumes on the global market, declared the Deputy of Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Viktor Sheremeta within opening ceremony of the eighteenth international conference Grain & Maritime Days in Odessa on May 30.

In terms of supplying of the significant volumes of grains for exports, Ukraine became one of the guarantors of the global food security. It is worth noting the fact of successful intergovernmental work and relevant competent authorities on phytosanitary issues, which allowed to the Ukrainian grain sector to expand its foothold on the new sales markets — Egypt, India, China, the EU and other countries, stressed V.Sheremeta.

He added that countries of Asia, the EU and the Middle East are the key partners of Ukraine on the grain market, as well as countries of North Africa also form the prospective and high-growth market.
