As of late July, the overall quality of grains was good and satisfactory in Ukraine, reported the agro-meteorological review of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine (NAAS).
“There are high test weight and kernel hardness as well as higher protein and gluten content in many households due to specifical weather conditions during the late development stages of winter wheat and low damage caused by shield-backed bug and other insects”, - was stated in the report.
At the same time, it is necessary to provide fast progress of the harvesting campaign, clearance and drying of grains to save the quality.
