The international Grain and Feed Trade Association decided to reconsider conditions of provision of services for Trade Assurance that include GTAS and Gafta Approved Registers. Moreover, they are the part of support program for members of the Association and their correspondence to ever-changing agricultural trade environment.

Through the process, they created the new Gafta Approved Register of Fumigators along with the Gafta Approved Register of Superintendents and Gafta Approved Register of Analysts that allows granting the liability of companies and their compliance with the requirements of agricultural trade as well as GAFTA contract terms.

Control of activity of approved companies is performed by the independent audit of code of good practice.

The GAFTA Trade Assurance Scheme (GTAS), which comprises the Gafta International Standard of Best Trade Practice for each stage in the supply chain, was changed as well.

The Fumigation manual was updated and the new Standard for Fumigation was issued. Certification to the Gafta Standard for Fumigation is a requirement for listing a company on the Gafta Approved Register. Analysis and Supervision Manuals were revised as well to meet the requirements of Gafta Approved Registers.

One of the strategic aims of GAFTA is to achieve the universal recognition of its code of good practice and Registers of approved companies as essential industry standards that would determine the policy of international trade on the global market.

The expert, Cand. Sc. Biology, Kiev office of GAFTA, Eugenia Novozhilova will tell about all new aspects of technical non-tariff regulation of GAFTA policy in within GMD Conference 2020: Summer Edition to be held on August 20 in Odessa (outdoor area of Maristella Marine Residence Hotel).
