Global population is growing, per capita income will increase as well. Thus, Ukraine needs to work towards the buildup of value-added goods export, declared the agricultural expert, associate professor of Kyiv School of Economics, Oleg Nivevsky within GMD Conference 2020: Summer Edition on August 20.
“Population of Ukraine is declining as well as incomes causing lowering of inner demand. Thus, we can increase the export”, - he said.
Ukraine needs to minimize the obstacles for export of value-added products and attract more investments to raise productivity.
“Logistics is the main problem of Ukraine especially if we compare to Germany or even neighbor Poland. There is a large gap in infrastructure, roads, ports. Customs lack efficiency, and it needs to be deregulated. Quality of logistic services is not good enough too due to educational weakness. We need to invest into skilled labor”, - O.Nivevsky explained.
