Participants of the Turkish grain market is considering the prospect of supplying of grains and flour to Syria using the infrastructure of Ukraine, declared the CEO of Besler Group (Turkey, Gaziantep), Mesut Çakmak during his report at "Grain Processors Forum - 2018" in Odessa on September 28.

According to him, to date the company plans to organize the exports flour and grains to Syria by sea vessels through Ukraine. Such steps would allow to Ukraine to use the logistics facilities in more active way, for example, the seaport of Kherson, as well as develop the export shipments of not only raw materials, but also high value-added products.

Also, M.Çakmak added that for the first 9 months of 2018 Turkey supplied nearly 200 thsd tonnes of flour to Syria, using nearly 92 grain carriers.

It is rather simply to work with Syria in the money sphere, since Turkey receives the payment for the delivered products within 15-20 days, but there is the significant problem with logistics, as there are many restricted access regions in Syria. And the assistance of Ukraine in optimization of the process would really help in the work, at the expense of usage of the Ukrainian sea transport.
