According to results of the polling conducted by experts of APK-Inform Agency, as of the end of March 2020, in Ukraine 89% of winter crops were in good and satisfactory condition, while 9% — in unsatisfactory condition, and 2% — lost, declared the Head of the information department at APK-Inform Agency, Andriy Kupchenko, on April 10, during his speech within the online-conference "Harvest-2020: whether the Ukrainian agro-industrial complex is ready for challenges of the pandemic?".
Within frames of the polling conducted in the second half of March 2020, APK-Inform interviewed nearly 700 farmers from all regions of Ukraine. The best condition of winter grain crops was observed in Ternopil, Kharkiv and Poltava oblasts. At the same time, the worst condition was observed in Odessa, Zaporizhia and Kyiv oblasts, where the crop areas were rather spaced and thinned, due to the deficit of moisture content in the soil, said A.Kupchenko.
As for the features of the spring crops planting campaign, the analyst noted that the beginning of the spring works in Ukraine started in 2-3 weeks sooner. In addition, agrarians provide the planting campaign in quarantine.
