In 2020, Kazakhstan harvested high-quality grain crop due to favorable weather during spring and autumn and planted campaign carried out in optimal time, informed the General Director with Baltic Control Kazakhstan, Gulmira Abisheva within KAZAKHSTAN GRAIN CONFERENCE 2020: ONLINE EDITION organized by APK-Inform on November 26.
“Wheat quality is excellent this year. Moisture content is up to 14%, sprouting is within the standard and does not exceeds 2%, falling number varies from 200 to 300. 70% of the overall wheat crop has the gluten content higher than 28% and protein content up to 15%”, - she said.
Only two oblasts of Kazakhstan - Kostanay and Akmola - faced wormwood smell in some lots of wheat. Other regions do not have this problem. Diseases are within the acceptable standards too.
“Barley also has a high quality, all markers are within the norm. At the same time, there is some deterioration of quality of oilseeds compared to the last year. However, all figures are acceptable”, - the expert said.
