The agricultural sector can become one of the key directions for bilateral economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, declared the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on September 11.
It is commonly known that Kazakhstan is one of the TOP-10 of the global exporters of high-quality wheat. Last year, wheat supplies to China reached 550 thsd tonnes, but Kazakhstan can increase the figures in 3.5 times — to 2 mln tonnes, the President said.
Also, he stressed the readiness of Kazakh companies to supply rather wide range of agricultural products on the Chinese market — poultry meat, beef, lamb, pork, as well as flour, grains, pulses and oilseeds.
In addition, Kazakhstan plans to increase the production and exports of environmentally friendly food products to China, added K.Tokayev.
