According to the updated forecast of APK-Inform Agency, in 2020 the harvest of sunflower seed in Ukraine will total 16-16.2 mln tonnes, against 15.5 mln tonnes last year. APK-Inform analysts increased their previous estimations, which in mid-May totaled nearly 15.4-15.7 mln tonnes, due to the beneficial impact of precipitation observed in late May and early June 2020.
In particular, the analysts reviewed the yield figures of sunflower seed — from 2.5 t/ha to 2.6 t/ha. At the same time, the planted areas under the oilseed will still keep at the level of 6.2-6.3 mln ha, as opposed to 6 mln ha last year.
