In the background of reduction of the prospects for rapeseed production in the EU more and more foreign traders express their interest in purchasing of the Ukrainian oilseed. According to recent estimations of German experts of the agency Oil World, in 2011/12 MY the European Union may import nearly 3.1 mln tonnes of rapeseed, including 1.5 mln tonnes of the Ukrainian oilseed.
Meanwhile, according to market operators, the domestic oilseed crushers activated purchases of rapeseed at the prices within range of 5050-5100 UAH/t CPT-plant. In turn, the purchasing prices of traders were declared at the higher level - 5100-5150 UAH/t CPT-port. Competition on the domestic market played out in real earnest, and will "warm up" pricing environment in the segment in the near future.
It is worth noting that during two recent seasons Ukrainian rapeseed almost was not processed inside the country.
