According to market operators, in 2010/11 MY Ukrainian sunflower oil lost some positions on the Egyptian market. During the season, Ukraine sold 212.55 thsd tonnes of the product to the North African country, which significantly lags behind the result of the previous season (379.44 thsd tonnes).

In parallel with the decline of the general imports of sunflower oil by Egypt, the share of Ukrainian commodities purchasing also reduced: if in 2009/10 MY the ratio of purchases of Argentinian sunflower oil was correlated with Ukrainian oil as 25% / 75%, in 2010/11 MY the ratio lowered to 30% / 70%. It is worth noting that the dynamics of exports of Ukrainian sunflower oil also faced significant changes, especially in the second half of 2010/11 MY. Since March 2011 selling of the product in the direction of the North African country showed a decrease in contrast to the previous two seasons. Reorientation of Ukrainian exporters to the Turkish market was called as the main reason for the trend. As a result, it is no wonder that Turkey overcame Egypt as the main destination of supplies of sunflower oil from Ukraine.

What are the preferences of Egypt in the new season? Will sunflower oil from Ukraine return its position in spite of all possible restrictions, imposed by the Government? In order to get answer to these and many other questions, establish connections with the leading importers of oilseeds and vegetable oils in Egypt, you should participate in the international conference "Fat-and-Oil Industry – 2011".

Such leading operators of the North African country as Alex Seeds and Borg Al Arab already confirmed their participation in the event. In the near future APK-Inform expects for supplement of the list of participants by a number of other Egyptian companies.
