In Ukraine, the grain shipping costs from the elevator to the port exceed the European average index by 37%, stated Maria Claudia Pachon, Senior Transport Specialist at the World Bank Group, on March 25 at the Ukrainian-American Agrarian Congress in Washington, D.C.
According to the expert, if the logistics costs in Ukraine were at the European Union level, the companies would save nearly 200 mln USD annually while exporting every 10 mln tonnes of agricultural cargoes.
