 The dynamic development of the industry of soybean production in Russia, namely increasing of the number of agricultural producers growing the oilseed, expansion of its planted areas, increasing of the level of agricultural production, growth of the yield index, presence of the potential for its further improvement, and some other factors, cause a keen interest of rather mainstream audience of market participants in the specified oilseed.

The development of soybean production in Russia is the important motivating factor for functioning and improvement of other allied industries: oil-producing, fat-and-oil, forage-producing, livestock, food, and other various industrial branches, as well as foreign trading.

Within frames of the current study, APK-Inform Agency set the task of providing the market participants with the detailed analysis of the Russian market of soybeans (beginning from cultivation of the oilseed to consumption of its by-products and trading activity), estimation of the current trends, prospects of development and potential opportunities of the reporting market. The target audience of the study includes rather wide range of participants of the agrarian business: agricultural producers, oilseed processors, traders, livestock breeders, specialists of investment companies and experts from all other sectors of the economy.

The subject of the study is the market of soybeans and by-products: soybean oil and soybean meal/ cake. The period under review includes 13 marketing years – beginning from 1999/00 MY to 2012/13 MY.
