The current situation on the Russian food market remains at the stable level, and to date there is no deficit of products in storehouses and distribution centers, reported the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Patrushev, on March 24, during the meeting of the Operation Headquarters for monitoring the situation with socially significant agricultural products and food.

At the same time, according to trade networks and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, last week in some regions there was observed the increased demand for long-lived commodities, such as groats, macaroni products, canned meat and fish, salt and sugar. However, in the beginning of the current week the trend started declining.

The Ministry of Agriculture, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, continues working to optimize the logistics, taking into account the increased demand for food products, added D.Patrushev.

As for the price situation, he said that to date there were no surge pricing trends, but the authorities will continue realizing the increased monitoring and analysis of the situation.
