In 2019/20 MY, Ukraine exported grains at the sum of 9 bln USD, that was the second largest result in the world after the USA, declared the President of the Ukrainian Grain Association, Mykola Gorbachev within GMD Conference 2020: Summer Edition on August 20.

“Ukraine needs to stimulate the export of value-added products. However, there is no hope for a breakthrough in grain processing in the nearest 5-10 years. It is necessary to understand clearly the requirements of importers in order to export flour or pasta. However, we will keep on produce and sell grain”, - he supposed.

M.Gorbachev said that the UGA forecasts grain and oilseed crop at 96.7 mln tonnes in Ukraine in 2020, while export could reach 58 mln tonnes.

“The condition of corn worsened over the last 2 weeks, so, we expect the decrease of production by about 3 mln tonnes. Even if we lower the corn output estimate to 33 mln tonnes, we still will have the third largest crop on record”, - he explained.
