Winter weather was favorable for crops in Ukraine, informed the National Academy of Agrarian Science.
Higher temperatures, absence of long-lasting frosts and moderate soil moisture allowed plants to pass through winter successfully and even to develop slightly during the periods of temperatures above zero.
“The conditions of most winter crops are good and satisfactory. The yield may be close to average, if plants resume vegetation earlier than usually under further favorable temperatures and precipitations”, – the experts suppose.
However, this supposition is quite preliminary, as the final results will depend on the weather in March and April.
