APK-Inform raised the estimation of soybean import to Ukraine to the record 30 thsd tonnes in 2019/20 MY.

“We lowered the estimation of the carry-over stocks of soybean to 37.5 thsd tonnes in Ukraine in 2019/20 MY, down 64% compared to the result of the previous season. This figure would be the minimal since 2011/12 MY”, - the analyst of APK-Inform, Andrey Kupchenko pointed out.

Moreover, he mentioned that the ratio of carry-over stocks volume to total distribution volume would be the record low this season (0.8%).

“The massive export of soybean in the first half of the season led to the decline of stocks. Thus, Ukraine shipped more than 2.3 mln tonnes of the oilseed in September-February, up 89% compared to the same period of the previous season. In light of this, it was difficult for Ukrainian processors to form the raw material base that arose the necessity to use imported soybean”, - A.Kupchenko explained.

More detailed information about the market of soybean and by-products will be presented by the analyst and head of business-projects division of APK-Inform, Andrey Kupchenko during the online-conference «Soybean and meal market» to be held on July 1.
