Roundtable “Experience of Ukraine in development of agricultural complex by means of advanced technologies”: new turn of trade relations between Ukraine and the Central Asia
The roundtable “Experience of Ukraine in development of agricultural complex by means of advanced technologies” was held within the international agro-industrial conference “Asia Grains & Oils Conference in Qazaqstan”, which took place on November 17-18, 2021 in Nur-Sultan and became one of the largest in the Central Asian region.

The roundtable was moderated by Alisher Makhmudov, General Director of Central Asian Trade House, and Alexander Alexandrov, Head of the Vektor Company Group Holding.
“This meeting is an additional opportunity to communicate with representatives of the agro-industrial complex from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and other countries. We are glad to welcome today our Ukrainian colleagues who are ready to share their experience. On the eve of the conference, there was a meeting of the Ukrainian delegation of machine builders and equipment manufacturers with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, where they discussed the possibility of industrial cooperation. Today, all those present can ask questions of interest, so that our dialogue is as useful and productive as possible"

Alexander Aleksandrov emphasized that for many years Ukraine has sufficiently developed technologies to be one of the TOP-exporters of grain and fat-and-oil products to the world market.
“We are glad that we managed to reach agreements with representatives of the Uzbek and Kazakh business on the further strengthening and development of cooperation. Ukrainian equipment manufacturers are ready to offer the best and modern solutions for fat-and-oil and grain processing enterprises in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan as well as share their experience in personnel training to work with new equipment. We have already prepared a development program and shared it with industry organizations and embassies of both countries. We planned a number of events for the exchange of experience, including technological and technical business tours to visit Ukrainian equipment manufacturing plants as well as processing enterprises”

The Ukrainian delegation was represented by APK-Inform Agency, Kotloenergoproject, VEKTOR Company Group Holding, Khorolskiy Mechanical Plant, TAN LLC, Graso Group.
“For more than 25 years, APK-Inform has been providing information services for participants of grain, oilseed as well as fruit and vegetable markets in the CIS countries and countries that import agricultural products from the Black Sea and Central Asian regions. We are glad that for more than 15 years we have been present on the Kazakh market as an information and analytical partner of agricultural producers, traders, processing enterprises and specialized organizations. Since 2019, our agency has begun active work on the Uzbek market and we were happy to find like-minded people among the representatives of the country's agricultural business. It was proved by the large-scale agrarian conference held in Tashkent in September 2021, the participation of a large Uzbek delegation at a similar event in Kazakhstan, a business tour of Central Asian Trade House to Ukraine, already existing diplomatic agreements at the highest levels. The purpose of all business meetings held in the countries of Central Asia is to strengthen cooperation with Ukrainian agricultural companies and to raise it to a new level. We are glad that during the conferences many representatives of various industry companies in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine managed to find common ground”

The Ukrainian delegation was headed by representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Kazakhstan, represented by Sergey Pavlenko political adviser and Oleg Kobzisty economic adviser.
“We see a great potential for the development of trade relations between Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The existing dialogue, the presence of representatives of Ukrainian business at this site and the willingness to interact prove that we can not only restore business ties that were lost for various reasons, but also strengthen the positions of each of the countries on the world stage”
– stressed Sergey Pavlenko.
So, one of the key issues discussed during the roundtable was the expansion and strengthening of the development of international relations in the fat-and-oil industry and the agro-industrial complex in general between Ukraine and the countries of the Central Asia. Large focus was also on to the exchange of experience between Ukrainian industry specialists, scientific organizations and institutes and operating processing enterprises in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The issue of the shortage of qualified personnel in these republics at agricultural enterprises in general and oil extracting factories in particular was a common thread during both the conference and at the roundtable.
The participants of the meeting were interested in participation of Ukrainian companies in industrial cooperation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which was initiated by Saidikram Niyazkhodzhaev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Many representatives of grain processing and fat-and-oil enterprises of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan showed positive expectations from the planned visits to Ukrainian enterprises.
“Kazakh processors understand that we need to modernize our factories starting from the acceptance of agricultural products. Already today, many plants are working on this, attracting equipment suppliers from Ukraine, who fully develop projects and build factories equal or even better than those operating in the CIS countries. We are looking forward to a business trip to Ukraine. I personally want to go. After all, what we are going through now in Kazakhstan has long been passed through in Ukraine”

While summing up the work of the Ukrainian delegation in Kazakhstan, Alisher Makhmudov and Alexander Alexandrov announced their intention to open a Ukrainian-Asian Trade House in Ukraine in 2022.
