Russia to export 3.4 mln tonnes of wheat in January

The analytical center at Rusagrotrans JSC raised its forecast of wheat export from Russia in January from 3 mln tonnes to 3.4 mln tonnes, informed the Head of the center, Igor Pavensky on January 28.

“The forecast of overall grain export was increased from 3.5 mln tonnes to 3.8 mln tonnes”, - the export added.

I.Pavensky said that Russia exported about 3.2 mln tonnes of grains in January 1-27, including 2.9 mln tonnes of wheat. He added that the export slowed down in the recent days in the context of periodical storms and the desire of exporters to ship wheat before the export duty would come into force in February 15.

“Moreover, we raised our forecast of Russian grain export in February from 2.3 mln tonnes to 2.6 mln tonnes, including 1.9-2 mln tonnes of wheat”, - the export said.
