Ukrainian seaports increased transshipment of sunflower oil by more than 30% in May

According to the monitoring of APK-Inform, in the period of May 1-31, 2021, the export volumes of oilseeds and by-products from the Ukrainian seaports totaled 688 thsd tonnes, up by 5.1% compared with the previous month volumes (654 thsd tonnes, taking into account the updated figures).

The shipment volumes of sunflower by-products formed the major share in the structure of supplies and totaled 662 thsd tonnes, including 467 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil (up by 1.3 times) and 195 thsd tonnes of sunflower meal (down by 19%). Seaports did not transshipped sunflower seed in May.

Export of soybean and by-products totaled 26 thsd tonnes (down by 2.3 times). Export of soybean totaled 16 thsd tonnes (down by 3.5 times), soybean meal - 10 thsd tonnes (up by 3.3 times). Seaports did not transshipped soybean oil in May.

There were no port shipments of rapeseed and by-products in May.

China (209.3 thsd tonnes), India (165.8 thsd tonnes) and the Netherlands (60.8 thsd tonnes) were the main destination for Ukrainian oilseeds and by-products in May.

In 2020/21 MY, the Mykolaiv Sea Commercial Port (4.3 mln tonnes) was the leader in the exports of oilseeds and by-products. The Chornomorsk Commercial Sea Port (2.19 mln tonnes) and Pivdennyj Sea Port (1.25 mln tonnes) took the second and third positions respectively.
