Ukraine: agricultural holding "Kernel" signed the agreement to purchase 80% of "Druzhba-Nova"

The agricultural holding "Kernel" signed the agreement to acquire 80% of shares of the company "Druzhba-Nova" at the sum of 68 mln USD, informed the exchange report of the holding.

According to the report, the current debt of "Druzhba-Nova" totals 101 mln USD. The deal will be closed after receiving permission from the antimonopoly authorities.

"Druzhba-Nova" cultivates 108 thsd ha of land areas in Chernihiv, Sumy and Poltava oblasts, and is involved in the plant growing industry. After the purchasing operation the land bank of "Kernel" will increase to 440 thsd ha.

Ukraine: UkrLandFarming to increase its land bank to 670 thsd ha

UkrLandFarming PLC, the largest Ukrainian agricultural holding, plans to increase its land bank from the level of 532 thsd ha to nearly 670 thsd ha, at the expense of purchasing of the Ukrainian assets of the agricultural holding Valinor and nearly 20 other agricultural businesses, declared Oleg Bakhmatyuk, Chief executive officer and owner of the company, on September 5.

According to him, the acquisition contract with Valinor will be closed in the nearest future, since "all the conditions have been already agreed, all necessary steps have been taken, and only permission of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine were required”.

According to O.Bakhmatyuk, the land bank of the holding Valinor will organically complement the already available land bank of UkrLandFarming, and 70% of the mentioned land bank is located in the area of risk-free agriculture, which will allow to the company to achieve the initial goal to increase the production volumes to 3 mln tonnes of agricultural crops per year, with the priority in maize production.

Ukraine: Creative is going to export sunflower oil to China

In the current week the Group Creative plans to send the first cargo lot of sunflower oil to China, declared Maxim Berezkin, Head of the supervisory board of the company, on April 25.

According to him, in May 2013 Creative is going to supply nearly 20 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil to China. M.Berezkin added that the company is currently working on opening the representative office in China.

He also noted that Ukraine already settled the issue on the phytosanitary certificate for sunflower oil with China, which allowed to the company to start shipment.

The Group is one of the leaders of the market of fats and margarines with the market share of over 30%. The Group produces trademarks "Sonola", "Delikon", "Dyvne", "Kum".

Last year Creative doubled the processing rates of sunflower seed - to 725 thsd tonnes, the production of fats and margarines increased by 24.5% - to 122 thsd tonnes.

New player on the grain market of Ukraine – "Falcon-Ukraine"

On September 15, a representative office of the British company “Falcon trade UK” - "Falcon – Ukraine" Ltd. opens in Ukraine, declared the press-service of the company on September 11.

According to the announcement, the exports of agricultural products to far abroad foreign countries will be the main focus of business activity of the new company. Also, the short-range plans of "Falcon - Ukraine" Ltd. include development of its own production and construction of linear elevators.

Maxim Danilov is appointed as the managing partner of the company, previously he headed Trading House "Private" Ltd., and "Trading Agrarian Company" Ltd.

Ukraine: Odessa Commercial Sea Port opened the first line of the grain terminal "Brooklyn-Kiev"

The first line of grain shipment complex of the company "Brooklyn-Kiev", one of the leading stevedoring companies of the Odessa Commercial Sea Port, began working at the Androsovsky pier in the port. The grand opening of the line was held on April 13, at the International Investment Forum Odessa Fdi Forum 2013 Focus: Infrastructure.

According to Yuri Gubankov, Head of "Brooklyn-Kiev" LLC, the general capacity of the terminal will total 4 mln tonnes of grains per year. With launching of the first line, the terminal will be able to process nearly 0.5 mln tonnes of grains.

The general cost of the terminal - 125 mln USD. The simultaneous storing capacity will total 235 thsd tonnes of grains. The Odessa port invested 40 mln USD from the general sum of 125 mln USD in construction of the berth. The terminal at the Androsovsky pier will be the fourth grain transshipment complex of the Odessa port.

The stevedoring company "Brooklyn-Kiev" operates berths of the Grain harbor of the Odessa Commercial Sea Port since September 1994. Specialization: transshipment of grain cargoes in bulk, steel products, ore cargoes.

Ukraine: Delta Wilmar CIS launched the oil extraction plant in Odessa oblast

The company-producer of fat-and-oil commodities Delta Wilmar CIS, incorporated to the transnational company Wilmar International, launched the oil extraction plant in the town of Yuzhny of Odessa oblast with the daily processing capacity of 1.2 thsd tonnes of sunflower seed, informed the press-service of the company on December 3.

According to the announcement, by the end of the winter 2014 the plant plans to reach its full capacity. Delta Wilmar CIS plans to supply oils and meals produced at the new plant on foreign markets.
