Russia harvested over 71 mln tonnes of grains — Ministry of Agriculture

As of August 19, Russian agrarians harvested grains and pulses throughout the areas of 22.5 mln ha, or 48% of the forecast. The production volumes reached 71.9 mln tonnes of grains (in 2018 — 69.4 mln tonnes), with the average yield of 3.2 t/ha (in 2018 — 3.12 t/ha), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

In particular, agrarians harvested 54.8 mln tonnes of wheat throughout 15.6 mln ha (55.5%), with the yield of 3.52 t/ha. Also, Russia harvested 12 mln tonnes of barley throughout 4.1 mln ha (46.6%), with the yield of 2.92 t/ha.

Agrarians still continued harvesting winter rapeseed, and as of August 19 the areas reached 210 thsd ha (13.4%). The production volumes reached 500.7 thsd tonnes, with the yield of 2.38 t/ha.

In addition, Krasnodar Krai harvested soybeans throughout 18.3 thsd ha, and produced 26.1 thsd tonnes of the oilseed, with the yield of 1.43 t/ha.

At the same time, Russian agrarians harvested 1.9 mln tonnes of sugar beet throughout 42.7 thsd ha (3.7%), with the yield of 43.59 t/ha.

Some raions of the Central, Northwestern, Volga, Ural and Siberian Federal Districts started planting winter crops for the harvest-2020. The planted areas reached 317.6 thsd ha, or 1.8% of the forecast.
