Russia harvested over 101 mln tonnes of grains — Ministry of Agriculture

As of September 19, Russian agrarians harvested grains and pulses throughout the areas of 37.2 mln ha (in 2018 — 34.4 mln ha), or 79.5% of the forecast. The production volumes reached 102.6 mln tonnes of grains (in 2018 — 91.8 mln tonnes), with the average yield of 2.76 t/ha (in 2018 — 2.67 t/ha), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on September 20.

In particular, agrarians harvested 70.2 mln tonnes of wheat throughout 23.5 mln ha (83.7%), with the yield of 2.99 t/ha. Also, Russia harvested 20 mln tonnes of barley throughout 7.8 mln ha (89%), with the yield of 2.55 t/ha.

Russian agrarians harvested corn for grain throughout 429.7 thsd ha, or 19.1% of the forecast. The production volumes totaled 2.4 mln tonnes, with the yield of 4.94 t/ha. Agrarians started harvesting rice, and produced 403.9 thsd tonnes of the grain. The harvested areas reached 61.3 thsd ha (31.6%), with the yield at 6.59 t/ha.

At the same time, agrarians already harvested sunflower seed throughout 1.8 mln ha (21.5%), and produced 4.2 mln tonnes of the oilseed, with the average yield at 2.29 t/ha.

Agrarians continued harvesting rapeseed, and as of September 19 the areas reached 674.8 thsd ha (43.2%). The production volumes reached 1.2 mln tonnes, with the yield of 1.76 t/ha.

In addition, Russia harvested soybeans throughout 1.1 mln ha (35%), and produced 2.1 mln tonnes of the oilseed, with the yield of 1.99 t/ha.

At the same time, Russian agrarians harvested 13.8 mln tonnes of sugar beet throughout 321.4 thsd ha (28.1%), with the yield of 42.91 t/ha.

As of the reporting date, Russia already planted winter crops for the harvest-2020 throughout 10.2 mln ha, or 58.2% of the forecast (in 2018 — 9.4 mln ha).
