Kazakhstan: forecast of the harvest of the major grain crops

APK-Inform analysts forecasted the growth of the harvest volumes of grains and pulses in Kazakhstan in 2020/21 MY, which will reach 18.4 mln tonnes, up 1 mln tonnes, or 5.8%, compared with the current season. At the same time, the planted areas under grains and pulses will total 15.2 mln ha, down 0.2 mln ha only compared with last season, mainly due to the areas under barley.

As for the wheat harvest in the season-2020/21, APK-Inform analysts forecasted the volumes at 12.2 mln tonnes (up 0.8 mln tonnes compared with the current year), with the average yield of 1.08 t/ha (up 7.1%). The planted areas under wheat in Kazakhstan are estimated at 11.4 mln ha (down 0.3% compared with the season-2019/20), which is the minimum level for 10 recent years, reported APK-Inform expert, Polina Kalaida, within frames of the online conference "Ukraine. Russia. Kazakhstan: updates and forecasts".

According to the forecast by the General Director at VKZ-Agro LLP, Alexander Malov, in the season-2020/21 the harvest of wheat in Kazakhstan will increase to 13.5 mln tonnes, up 2.1 mln tonnes compared with the last year result.
