In May 2023, Kazakhstan exported 65.02 thsd tonnes of wheat flour to Uzbekistan, which is 37% higher month-on-month. This is a record monthly volume not only since the beginning of the current season but also over the past several seasons, APK-Inform reports with reference to official statistics.
In total, for 9 months of 2022/23 MY (September-May), Uzbekistan imported 406.6 thsd tonnes of Kazakh flour.
During the same period last season, Kazakhstan shipped 319.2 thsd tonnes of this product to Uzbekistan (including 33.73 thsd tonnes in May 2022).
Thus, Uzbekistan firmly holds 2nd place in the list of importers of Kazakh wheat flour, second only to Afghanistan.
It is interesting to note that the export of wheat from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan, according to official statistics, has also increased significantly.
For 9 months of 2022/23 MY, Uzbekistan became the top importer of Kazakh grain – 3.094 mln tonnes were shipped in this direction, including 395.12 thsd tonnes in May 2023 (this is the highest indicator for the last 5 months). During the same period last season, Uzbekistan purchased 2.21 mln tonnes of wheat (including 150.87 mln tonnes in May 2022).
