About the conference

Continuing the tradition of international grain activities, the Russian Grain Union and IA APK-Inform declare about holding of the international grain trading conference (Grain Trading Conference-2009) in Egypt (March 30 - April 1, 2009, Sharm el Sheikh).

Egypt still remains at the role of one of the largest world importers of grains, especially wheat. According to the forecasts of USDA, in 2008/09 MY the country will import 7.8 mln tonnes of wheat. Traditionally, Egypt is the major foreign market for wheat from the Black Sea region. During several last seasons, both governmental and private Egyptian companies provide imports of wheat from Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

The key segment of target audience of the conference is traders, exporters from countries of the Black Sea region and the European Union, as well as importers from Egypt and other countries of the North Africa and the Middle East.

The subjects of the conference will concentrate on the discussion of the most urgent issues of international grain trading, including new tendencies, caused by the global financial crisis. The leading international experts will provide their own vision of the mentioned problems - from the situation on the money-markets to the prospects of the grain market in 2009/10 MY.

The expected number of conference participants includes 250-300 persons.

The geography of participants cover such countries as Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Tunisia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Libya and etc.
