In 2014 Ukrainian agrarians may harvest 28-30 mln tonnes of winter crops, an increase of 10-20% compared with the harvest of winter crops in 2013, declared Tatiana Adamenko, Head of the department of agrometeorology of the Hydrometeorological center of Ukraine, on January 10.

She also noted that the warm weather, which is observed in Ukraine since the second half of autumn 2013, did not negatively impact on the condition of winter crops areas.

According to T.Adamenko, to date 8-10% of winter crops areas (70-80 thsd ha) are rather poorly developed and may face some threat, due to possible further decrease of air temperature. At the same time, more than 90% of the sprouts of winter crops were estimated as good and satisfactory.
