In 2013 the volume of agricultural commodities production in Azerbaijan totaled 5.244 bln AZN, an increase of 4.9% compared with 2012, informed the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In 2013 the growth of production of plant growing commodities totaled 4.2%. The country produced 2.961 mln tonnes of grains (including maize), 992.7 thsd tonnes of potatoes, 1.232 mln tonnes of vegetables, 181.4 thsd tonnes of sugar beet, 18.1 thsd tonnes of sunflower seed.
Agrarians processed 1.088 mln ha of cultivated areas for the harvest-2014, and planted winter grains throughout 979.1 thsd ha, including 646.3 thsd ha for wheat, 332.7 thsd ha for barley.
The official exchange rate as of January 23 totaled 0.7843 AZN / 1 USD.
