As of March 31, 2014, agrarians of Ukraine already planted early spring grains and pulses throughout the areas of 2.263 mln ha, or 81% of the plan, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, barley planted areas reached 1.733 mln ha (65%), peas — 177 thsd ha (89%), wheat — 127 thsd ha (77%), oats — 216 thsd ha (86%).
As of the reporting date, Ukrainian agrarians planted maize throughout 7 thsd ha.
Sugar-beet planted areas reached 152 thsd ha (46%), sunflower seed – 155 thsd ha (4%).
Agrarians already provided additional fertilizing of winter grains areas throughout 7.478 mln ha (96%), winter rapeseed – 913 thsd ha (96%).
