As of April 1, 2014, Ukraine planted spring crops throughout the areas of 2.77 mln ha, an increase of 4.2 times compared with the last year index on the same date, declared the State Statistics Service of Ukraine on April 10.
In particular, agrarians planted grains and pulses (excluding maize) throughout 1.942 mln ha (up 3.4 times compared with 2013), including barley - 1.494 mln ha (up 3.2 times).
Besides, agrarians planted sunflower seed throughout 227.1 thsd ha, spring rapeseed - 14.8 thsd ha.
