As of April 14, 2014 in Ukraine the agrarians had already planted early spring grains and leguminous crops throughout 2.52 mln ha, or 92% of the plan, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
According to the data of the Ministry, in the same period of 2013, the early spring grains and leguminous crops planted areas totaled 1.68 mln ha.
In particular, as of the reported date wheat planted areas reached 156 thsd ha (95%), barley – 1.92 mln ha (90%), oats – 246 thsd ha (98%), peas – 188 thsd ha (95%).
Ukrainian agrarians planted maize throughout 291 thsd ha (6%), sunflower – 1.01 mln ha (24%), soybean – 36 thsd ha (2%).
